Natural deodorant, aluminum-free, paraben-free… how do you find your way around?

You’ve just experienced your first (almost) heat wave of the year, and you’re wondering if your natural deodorant is strong enough to prevent you from stinking like a hockey bag during the hottest months of the year? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! While we’re part of the team who believe that sweat is good (it still helps regulate your body temperature🌡), we’re also on the team of people who prefer to smell good.

ROSECITRON dedorantsWhy choose a natural deodorant?

If you’re reading this blog, you’re probably the type of person who likes to know what you’re putting on your body. Commercial body products, soaps, and shampoos often have an endless list of ingredients that are impossible to decipher without a chemistry degree 👩🔬. What we put under our armpits is no exception. Aluminum salts, parabens, fragrances, cyclopentasiloxane… the list of undesirable ingredients is still (too) long. Some are skin irritants and others are considered endocrine disruptors or possible carcinogens ☢️… So, not exactly what you want to slather on your skin on a daily basis!

Antiperspirant or deodorant, what’s the difference?femme aisselles/woman armpits

First of all, if you’re looking for natural products, you are more likely opting for a deodorant than an antiperspirant. Why? Because antiperspirants usually use aluminum salts to block the secretion of sweat and are therefore not considered “natural”. Natural deodorants do not block sweat secretion, but they do prevent unpleasant odors. Putting aside that long list of overly complicated – and mostly harmful – products, you can smell like roses all day long – or rosemary or verbena – without worrying about what you’re putting under your armpits – or anywhere else on your body, that’s your right!

Does a natural deodorant really work?

Natural deodorants can use a variety of strategies to eliminate “lovely” odors from your body: some will simply mask the odors, others will absorb some of the sweat and finally some will kill the bacteria that cause those odors. To create the most effective deodorant, we decided to mix these three strategies. Nothing less! So we take full advantage of the potential of natural products, and we avoid these as if it was the plague: parabens, perfumes – you know, that catch-all word that is used to put shady ingredients in cosmetics – as well as the famous aluminum salts, which are not so nice.

So, are you ready to dive into summer while managing your body odor in the most natural way possible? We’ve got a deodorant you’ll love. And of course, once you’re done with your bottle of deodorant, we invite you to go fill it up at your favorite refill station. It’s economical and ecological! And above all, really effective. 😉
