Calcium carbonate is a white-beige colored mineral powder that makes up chalk, marble, and even bones. In cosmetics, it is used as a mild abrasive in toothpastes to remove stains from teeth, just like bamboo silica.

Coconut Oil Toothpaste Recipe

For about 100g (1 tube):

  • 15g Calcium carbonate
  • 25g Xylitol
  • 25g water
  • 35g coconut oil
  • 3 drops of Mint essential oil
  • 1 drop of Peppermint essential oil (for the fresh effect in the mouth)

Material:

  • Scale accurate to 0.1g of preferences (or 1g)
  • a spatula to mix and scrape the bottom of the pan.

Manual :

  1. Dilute the xylitol in hot water while stirring.
  2. When the xylitol is well diluted, add the coconut oil. Stir to help it melt.
  3. When the coconut oil is melted, add the calcium carbonate and mix well. You can use a mixer foot to make a nice homogeneous texture.
  4. Add your essential oils and mix well. Add essential oil as needed.
  5. To put the mixture in a tube, you can use a cake decorating bag or a large syringe.
