It is used diluted in oil: 2 drops of Wintergreen essence for 10ml of good quality organic vegetable oil (see vegetable oils on our site).

Word from Mikaël Zayat

Wintergreen essential oil is used in cosmetics (especially for the manufacture of hair oils), perfumery and pharmaceutical companies. It is antiseptic, aromatic, carminative and stimulant. It is used in the treatment of rheumatism, gout, stiffness due to old age, scabies and neuralgia. This essential oil also revitalizes and gives energy following muscular pain, particularly good for athletes, in massages. The oil also has several aromatherapeutic uses. It brings us all the benefits of the rocky slopes of the Himalayan mountains where it grows naturally between 1500 and 2700 meters above sea level.

Word from Anny Schneider

Not to be confused with Wintergreen, which comes from a Nepalese shrub also from the Ericaceae family and with similar properties, but which is not cultivated. The level of methyl salicylate is even higher in wintergreen, which would therefore have powerful analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, not to mention its deodorizing effects.

Origin of this essential oil

This certified organic Wintergreen essential oil from Nepal is distilled from the fresh leaves of the shrub.
