Benzoin (sometimes called "Jaoui") is used worldwide as a preservative in ointments and creams for dermatological use.

Thanks to its high benzoic acid content and various esters, it is an exceptional antiseptic and antifungal.

As its resin is ultra-dense, for the same reason, it must absolutely be diluted in a polyunsaturated vegetable oil: safflower, grapeseed or sunflower.

Or mix it at 10% in alcohol (gin, vodka...) against chronic topical infections.
