A word from Mikaël Zayat
Ravintsara essential oil comes from a tree with a thousand virtues, the "Cinnamomum camphora", which can reach thirty meters, has leaves covered with a waxy film and whose flowers have white petals.
The aromatic bouquet smells like eucalyptus.
Its distillate contains half eucalyptol, the rest being composed, among other things, of terpene oxide, terpene alcohol, sesquiterpene, and ketone.
This essential oil fights pain, destroys pathogenic microbes, relieves muscle contractions and joint pain (for athletes and the elderly alike!), and clears respiratory passages.
It also stimulates energy, vigor, and defense mechanisms against infections.
It is used to treat flu, allergies, dry coughs, and wet coughs, having the power to act against respiratory infections, sinusitis, and bronchial affections.
It is generally used in external application, diluted with vegetable oil, for massage.
It is also said to have muscle toning virtues and properties that stimulate the body's immune defenses against infections.
It would also be good against cellulite and water retention in the body!
According to tradition, it would also have anxiolytic and analgesic virtues, as well as tranquilizing and hypnotic properties.
Its simplest use is to inhale the smell of Ravintsara oil on a handkerchief on which two drops of vegetable oil have been poured for dry coughs.
Perform fumigations for wet coughs.
To find quick sleep, sniff the oil applied in one or two drops on the inside of the wrists.
Ravintsara is often mixed with massage oil to relieve muscle cramps.
Diluted 5 to 10% in a vegetable oil, it also treats fatigue.
To clear the respiratory passages in case of flu, allergy or cold, inhale the oil from the neck of the open bottle or via a micro-diffuser.
This oil is strictly forbidden for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, epileptics, and people with allergies.
A word from Anny Schneider

The camphor tree is a tree that can reach 30m with persistent leaves and produces small red fruits.
It is native to China and Japan.
Ravintsara essential oil obtained from the leaves of Cinnamomum camphora from Madagascar has a peak production from December to February. Aromatherapists do not call it camphor essential oil but Ravintsara EO because its composition is particular and different from Asian cineole-containing camphor trees (it is a Malagasy chemotype with 1,8-cineole).
Marco Polo reported its use in China for therapeutic purposes.
5 different chemotypes of Cinnamomum camphora can be characterized:
- •linalool, (Ho Wood)
- •camphor, (Camphor Tree)
- •cineole, (Ravintsara)
- •iso-nerolidol,

2 types of essential oils are extracted from Ravintsara:

- •Immune stimulant, atoxic
according to various studies published in "Pubmed" (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17305775/, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24555298/),
- and the essential oil from the wood which should not be used internally.
